Sorcerous Origin subclass Sorcerous Origin Your ancestor is the Spirit of the Great Serpent. Like the other animal Great Spirits, it sacrificed itself for animals, but it willingly lends its poison and hunger to those who agree to surrender part of themselves in a Ritual. Serpent Spells 3 Ray of Sickness, Sleep, Suggestion, Enlarge/Reduce 5 Fear, Stinking Cloud 7 Vitriolic Sphere, Evard's Black Tentacles 9 Contagion, Cloudkill Serpent Spells Improved Poison Spray You learn Poison Spray, which does not count against your cantrips known. When you cast it, you can Target one Creature as normal or two creatures within 5 feet of each other. Its range is 60 feet. Serpent Resistance You gain resistance to Poison Damage. Serpent Transformation You learn Polymorph (although you don't yet have Spell slots to cast it normally). You can cast it without expending a Spell slot, only on yourself, without Concentration, while retaining your mental ability scores. You can transform only into a Giant Venomous Snake, Constrictor Snake, Venomous Snake, or Giant Constrictor Snake. The last form lasts only 1 minute. After using this feature, you cannot use it again until a Long Rest unless you expend one use of Innate Sorcery to regain it. Acidic Venom When you use Innate Sorcery, you gain Immunity to Poison Damage, including while using Serpent Transformation. You learn the Transmute Spell Metamagic, or another Metamagic if you already know it. You can use Transmute Spell for free on spells that deal Poison Damage, changing it to acid Damage. Serpent Abomination You learn Tenser's Transformation and can cast it without expending a Spell slot. When cast this way, you gain a Bite attack treated as a simple Weapon: 1d6 Piercing plus 1d12 Poison Damage, Reach, Sap, and Weapon Mastery.
